The bouquet hydrangea 'Hercules' (Hydrangea paniculata 'Hercules') is a unique cultivar, known for its huge, paniculate inflorescences and strong growth. Its showy, creamy-white flowers fade into subtle pink over time, making it a spectacular accent in any garden. Cultivation requirements for hydrangeas 'Hercules'
Location and soil
- Position: It grows best in sunny or slightly semi-shaded places. Too deep shade can limit the abundance of flowering.
- Soil: Fertile, permeable, humus, slightly acidic. The soil should be moderately moist.
Watering and fertilizing
- Watering: Regular, especially during drought. The soil should be constantly moist, but not waterlogged.
- Fertilization: From spring to July, use fertilizers dedicated to hydrangeas or compound fertilizers to support flowering.
Care
- Trimming: In spring, pruning should be carried out, shortening the shoots by 1/3–1/2 of their length, which stimulates the plant to form new shoots and abundant flowering.
- Wintering: A frost-resistant variety, but in the case of very young plants, it is worth mulching the base.
