Raspberry 'Willamette' ( Rubus idaeus 'Willamette') is one of the most commonly grown varieties of summer raspberries. It is valued for its high fertility, high resistance to diseases and excellent, intensely raspberry taste of the fruit. Ideal for home gardens and professional plantations, thanks to the versatile use of fruit.
Characteristics of the 'Willamette' variety

- It forms erect shrubs 1.5–2 meters high. It is characterized by strong growth and abundant foliage.

- Strong, erect, with numerous, small spines. The shoots are very fertile and easy to lead on supports.

- Large, intense red, matte, conical shape.
- The flesh is compact, aromatic, with a classic, distinct taste – slightly sour, with a distinct hint of sweetness.
- The fruits ripen in June and July.
Growing conditions

- She grows best in full sun, which provides an intense flavor and a heavy yield. It tolerates light partial shade, but fruiting may be less abundant.

- It requires fertile, well-drained, moderately moist soil with a slightly acidic pH (pH 5.5–6.5). Avoid heavy, compacted and waterlogged soils.

Watering:
- Regular watering during drought is crucial, especially during flowering and fruit ripening.

- Fully frost-resistant (zone 5–8), it is perfect for Polish climatic conditions.
Care

- After the end of fruiting, remove the shoots that bore fruit, leaving one-year-old, healthy shoots.
- In the spring, damaged or weak shoots are removed to improve the structure of the bush.

- In spring, it is worth using an organic or compound fertilizer for fruit plants. Regular fertilization increases fertility and improves fruit quality.
