Delphinium 'King Arthur' – A Royal Accent in the Garden
Delphinium 'King Arthur' is an impressive, tall perennial with intense purple, semi-double flowers with a white eye. This unique variety is distinguished by its majestic habit and long flowering period. It is an ideal choice for flower beds, English gardens and for growing as a cut flower. Its presence in the garden adds elegance and structure, attracting pollinating insects such as bees and butterflies.

Cultivation requirements of delphinium 'King Arthur'
Location and soil
- Position: Full sun – provides the best coloration of flowers and lush flowering.
- Soil: Fertile, humus, permeable, moderately moist, slightly alkaline to neutral pH.
- Humidity: The soil should be constantly slightly moist, but not waterlogged.
Watering and fertilizing
- Watering: Regular, especially during drought – the soil should not dry out.
- Fertilization: In spring and summer, use a compound fertilizer for flowering plants, you can also enrich the soil with compost.
Care
- Trimming: After the first flowering, it is worth cutting the shoots to a height of about 20 cm to stimulate the plant to bloom again in September.
- Supports: Tall shoots may require staking, especially in windy positions.
- Reproduction: By dividing the clumps in spring or by root cuttings in autumn.
- Wintering: Fully frost hardy (zone 3–7), but in harsher winters it is worth mulching the base of the plant.
